Overview
Dragon Challenge was the Wizarding World of Harry Potter's retheme of the original Dueling Dragons coasters, recast as Hungarian Horntail and Chinese Fireball dragons guarding the Triwizard Tournament. Riders chose a track — each launched simultaneously and was engineered to pass within about a foot of the other train at multiple points, including a signature near-collision as the two coasters swept past each other inverted. The Hogsmeade queue wound through Triwizard Tournament staging areas before splitting riders onto their chosen dragon.

History
Dragon Challenge opened in 2010 as part of the first Wizarding World of Harry Potter expansion, replacing the original Dueling Dragons theming with a Triwizard Tournament story. It closed in September 2017 to make way for Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, which opened on the same footprint in 2019.
