Overview
Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain is an indoor launched roller coaster that blasts guests through a simulated hyperspace jump into a Star Wars space battle. After a brief pre-show briefing, the coaster launches at speed into near-total darkness, hurtling through sharp bends, steep ascents, and three inversions while projections of TIE fighters and X-wings flash around the track. The confined environment, high-speed launch, and blackout conditions create a distinctly intense and disorienting experience. It is extremely compact — but every second is relentless.

History
The attraction opened in 1995 as Space Mountain: De la Terre à la Lune, a Jules Verne-inspired steel coaster with a cannon launch concept. It was rebranded as Space Mountain: Mission 2 in 2005 and converted to Hyperspace Mountain with Star Wars theming in 2017. The underlying coaster structure — including its launch mechanism and enclosed inversion — dates to the 1995 original.
