TRON Lightcycle / Run

Magic Kingdom · Tomorrowland

Overview

TRON Lightcycle / Run ran at Shanghai Disneyland for seven years before Florida got its own version in 2023, and the Florida build adds an extended outdoor track section the original doesn't have. The forward-leaning, motorcycle-straddling seating position is the whole design premise: it puts your body in an aerodynamic crouch that measurably changes how the speed registers compared to a normal seated coaster, even before accounting for the enclosed show building's light-grid effects. The canopy overhead covers close to six acres, among the largest single-roof structures on any Disney property.

ParksLog Verdict

Lightning Lane Premier or the virtual queue — there's no realistic standby option, waits regularly clear 90 minutes. The outdoor section at full speed is the standout moment and worth riding once in daylight and once after dark if you can manage both. This is Magic Kingdom's first genuinely new coaster in over four decades, and it rides like it.

Tips

  • Virtual queue or Lightning Lane Premier is essentially mandatory — standby wait frequently exceeds 90 minutes

  • The outdoor section at full speed provides a spectacular view of Tomorrowland worth experiencing in both daylight and after dark
