Overview

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train's ore carts swing independently on their axles through every curve — a pendulum motion shared only with its Shanghai Disneyland twin. The outdoor sections lean into that lateral swing hard; the real payoff, though, is indoors, where the track slows into a show building filled with singing Audio-Animatronic dwarfs mid-"Heigh-Ho," more detailed than the exterior thrill-ride marketing suggests.

This is the family-coaster benchmark at Magic Kingdom, full stop — buy the Lightning Lane Single Pass as early as you can, because standby routinely becomes the longest wait in the park. If you're choosing between this and TRON and can only buy one Single Pass, take this one; TRON's thrills are easier to find on other coasters, while this swinging family ride is hard to match.

History

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train opened in 2014 as the centerpiece attraction of the New Fantasyland expansion, on land once used by the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea lagoon and later Pooh's Playful Spot. The swinging vehicle system was developed specifically for this attraction and represented a new coaster engineering innovation for Disney.
