History
Revenge of the Mummy opened May 21, 2004, replacing Kongfrontation — a Universal Studios Florida founding attraction simulating a King Kong encounter that had operated since the park's 1990 opening. The ride combined traditional steel coaster elements with dark ride theming, live fire effects, and a backwards launch mechanic — a combination that distinguished it at the time from both conventional coasters and conventional dark rides.
