Revenge of the Mummy uses actual propane fire effects inside its enclosed track — riders physically feel heat passing through those sections, not a simulated warmth. It opened in June 2004 in the space Kongfrontation had occupied since the park's 1990 opening, layering forward-and-backward launches and a deliberate false ending — the ride convinces you it's over, then launches backward into darkness for one more sequence — on top of a fully dark, unpredictable track layout.

History
Revenge of the Mummy opened June 24, 2004, replacing Kongfrontation — a Universal Studios Florida founding attraction simulating a King Kong encounter that had operated since the park's 1990 opening. The ride combined traditional steel coaster elements with dark ride theming, live fire effects, and a backwards launch mechanic — a combination that distinguished it at the time from both conventional coasters and conventional dark rides.
