The T. rex that looms over the boat at this ride's climax is the payoff of a deliberate buildup: a long, leisurely tour of the dinosaur preserve lulls riders before a staged system malfunction sends the raft into the Raptor Containment Area. The premise directly mirrors the systems-failure scenario from the original 1993 Jurassic Park film, right down to putting guests in the same predicament as the movie's characters before the final plunge.
