The Incredible Hulk Coaster opened with Islands of Adventure on May 28, 1999, as one of the park's original launch coasters. In 2016, the coaster underwent a complete track replacement and refurbishment — smoothing the ride experience and adding an onboard audio system to each vehicle — while preserving the original launch mechanism and layout unchanged from 1999.
