Overview
Ringmaster Skender has stolen Newt Scamander's suitcase, and inside it are the fantastic beasts he needs to restore his fading circus — that's the setup driving this 23-minute stage production, adapted from the traveling circus first seen in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. Circus employee Gwenlyn, an original character created for this show, spends the runtime racing to rescue the stolen creatures before Skender can use them. What elevates it above a typical theme park show is the puppet work: the large-scale creature puppets are built and performed with a level of craft that's unusual even by Universal's standards. It's also, quietly, one of the better midday heat escapes in the park — 23 air-conditioned minutes with a fixed schedule you can plan around.
