History

Casey Jr. opened in March 1994, alongside Le Pays des Contes de Fées, inspired by the identically named ride at Disneyland California which dates to 1955. The Fantasyland layout was deliberately designed so Casey Jr.'s elevated circuit and the ground-level Storybook Canal Boats would share the same fairy-tale miniature scenery — the two attractions serving as complementary aerial and water-level perspectives.
