Tiana's Bayou Adventure
Magic Kingdom · Frontierland
Overview
Tiana's Bayou Adventure reuses the actual flume system and mountain structure from Splash Mountain, which closed in 2023 after decades of criticism over its Song of the South source material — everything above the ride mechanism was replaced: theming, audio, all of it. Original songs were developed with New Orleans musicians rather than composed in-house, which shows in the bayou sequences building to the final plunge, and the attraction now runs over 300 Audio-Animatronic figures, among the densest character count of any Disney dark ride.
ParksLog Verdict
Come in without measuring it against Splash Mountain nostalgia and this stands on its own — the audio work through the bayou build genuinely earns comparisons to Pirates of the Caribbean's show-building density. The final drop still delivers the splash the ride was built around. Ponchos in the front rows if you'd rather not dry off for the rest of the day.
