Where Disneyland's Haunted Mansion looks like a New England manor, Florida's is a Southern plantation house — same 999 ghosts, same ride system, entirely different architecture, and the two have quietly diverged in small ways for over fifty years. The Doom Buggy is what makes the pacing work: a continuously rotating vehicle that turns you toward the next gag right as the last one fades, through a ballroom illusion that's technically a 19th-century stage trick (Pepper's Ghost) still doing the job better than most modern effects. It's dense enough that a single ride rewards deliberately looking away from whatever's directly ahead.

Grab Lightning Lane at rope drop and don't overthink it — this is as close to a guaranteed must-do as Magic Kingdom has, and the standby line punishes anyone who waits past mid-morning. Sit toward the back of the Doom Buggy if you want a beat longer in each room before rotating out. Fifty-plus years in, it still holds up against dark rides built with vastly more modern technology.
