Overview
Test Track's current version, reopened in July 2025, drops the old design-your-own-car stations for a concept-car showroom queue and a ride that nods to EPCOT's original World of Motion. A narrator and an AI car voice guide the six-passenger vehicles through a city seen the way a self-driving car sees it, a house of the future with a mirror effect, a forest highway with a near miss, and a dome of flying cars, before the car bursts outdoors for a full-throttle lap of the banked loop. The single rider line makes this one of the more time-efficient thrill options in the park.

The 2025 rework gives Test Track a warmer, more EPCOT-classic story, and the outdoor run is still one of the best speed rushes at Walt Disney World. Single rider line is available and often dramatically shorter; use it if you're flexible about riding with strangers. Thrill-seekers should hit Guardians first, but Test Track's outdoor speed finale delivers an exhilaration that stands on its own.

History
Test Track opened in 1999 after significant delays, originally themed as a GM automotive testing facility where guests experienced real-world vehicle safety tests. A 2012 retheme sponsored by Chevrolet added a 'design your own SimCar' queue. That version closed in June 2024, and a third version, inspired by World of Motion and again sponsored by General Motors, opened in July 2025 with new scenes and a showroom queue, keeping the outdoor speed finale.
Fun facts
- Test Track reaches its top speed on the outdoor banked loop, making it one of the fastest attractions at Walt Disney World.
- The original 1999 version was one of Walt Disney World's most troubled attraction openings, plagued by technical difficulties that delayed its debut by nearly two years past the original target.
