Overview
Frozen Ever After's boats glide past Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff, and Sven inside a winter Arendelle celebration, set inside the Norway Pavilion's genuinely Scandinavian architecture and folk art rather than a generic soundstage. Zero height requirement and a very-low thrill rating undersell it — this consistently posts some of the longest waits anywhere in EPCOT. A brief backward-facing drop early on catches first-timers off guard who expected a purely forward ride.

Lightning Lane earns its cost here more than almost anywhere else at EPCOT — standby waits regularly stretch to the longest in the park, and the ride's brief 6-minute runtime makes every standby minute feel disproportionate. The Audio-Animatronics are excellent and the Norway Pavilion setting is genuine Scandinavian architecture. Frozen fans consider it unmissable; guests without strong IP attachment will still find it charming, though perhaps not queue-worthy.

History
Frozen Ever After replaced Maelstrom, a Viking-themed dark boat ride that ran from 1988 to 2014 and had a devoted following among longtime EPCOT guests for its grounding in Norse mythology and Norwegian culture. The replacement was controversial at the time. Frozen Ever After opened on June 21, 2016, as part of a broader push toward IP integration in EPCOT's World Showcase.
